Just bought a 1981 Z28

Well I just got my 81 Zed home on sat. I don`t have pics yet because it won`t stop raining. It`s in rough shape but overall it`s allright

Specs 1981 Z28 It`s real I checked the body tag

355 all stock with no emissions
TH350 with a shift kit
3:73s I don`t know if it`s posi or not
T-tops

It needs brakes and a rear brake line a pach in the floor tail lights and tires and a big tune up

I bought the car off a friend for 2200 he says it hasn`t been on the road for 14 years and it has 63000 miles

Hopfully I`ll get pics soon

'81 Z28's rule!!!

Well, the driveline of the car (355, TH350, 3.73's) sounds like a nice setup, and so what if the car needs a little TLC?!.......half the fun and pride of ownership with a car comes from giving it TLC and taking it from "rough" condition to "mint" condition.

Thumbs up Congrats !

Love the 2nd Gens -

to me, they were the Camaros & T/A's !!

That comes from growing up on Smokey & The Bandit, I suppose.

Only bad things about an '81 -

No cubby hole in the floor console as that's where the computer was placed that controls the electronic carberator.

However -

An older console could "easily" be installed , and with a std. 4 bbl & dual cats I'm sure it would still pass a sniffer test.

Have fun !!

Canadian 1981 Z/28's did not have computers, nor did the carbureted '82 Z/28s either. Also in '81, you could order the 350 4-speed just like you could in 1980, up here in Canada. A buddy of mine bought his 1981 Z/28 350 4-speed new off the showroom floor, just out of high school. He still has this same car in excellent condition today.
