I am having a hard time deciding on a color

It is not going to anytime soon, but I am having a hard time deciding on a color for my 70'. I know lighter colors look great, but for some reason I am fixed on black or a close color to eletric blue. I know I dont want to do red (not that red is a bad color)! On the cover of "Camaros Performers" is a 70'-73' camaro that was hugger orange and everytime I see that I think wow. Thanks-

The car you're thinking of is probably the Hotchkis built '71 (hugger orange w/white stripes) . It has an LS1/T56 combo!

Check the '73 in my sig....................I swear to god my dad and I decided on the color BEFORE we ever saw that Hotchkis car in the mag!! We haven't got stripes on the car yet, but they're coming next year.

IMHO, I don't know how much I would actually like black on an early 2nd-gen? I love it on the later '78 - '81s, but there's something about the early '70 - '73s that just begs for lighter, "bolder" colors! I've seen them in orange, yellow, and red and I think they look great, although there are a few other colors that seem to suit them too....................just not black I don't think?

Oh, and stripes are a must!!!

Silver

White

Black

I don't like the white as much, but I found it so I figured I might as well post it.

we had a 78' camaro that was black and look pretty good black, but I cant picture the 70' being black. The light, bolder colors I think would look better and they bring out the body lines. I have been really thinking about the hugger orange. The one that is on the cover of the mag has no stripes. I have seen the one that has stripes, they both are very nice! I dont want to do white, I had a 69' nova that was white and it wasnt bad I just dont want to do white again.

Thumbs up

Dark colors look awesome... especially since you'll probably keep it nice an clean. So I vote for black, or dark blue...

don't go for black.. IMO, it makes it harder to see styling that was put into the car...

i'd say a silver with different color stripes...

but... i'm biased

it's also pretty funny that everytime someone refers to the '70 (more images in my signature), they call it "the black one"... I've heard it from 3 or 4 people, already :P

Since you like the orange, why not do the sunset orange metallic as seen on the later 4th gens?
