Hurst Competition Plus mechanism...

Does anyone know if all Hurst Competition Plus 4 Speed shifter mechanisms are the same?

It seems all the shifters for different cars have different part numbers. And then the install kits are piled on top of that.

I figure the lever is the only difference between the actual shifters, as it seems the mounting bracket and the rest are part of the install kits.

I have a shifter from an 82 camaro's saginaw tranny to go on my BW T10. I hope i can just get the right install kit and be good... any help?

If this '82 Camaro was in fact, a Z/28 with a factory 4-speed, it *should* actually be a BW ST-10 transmission. I owned an '82 Z/28 for a few years and mine had the Super T-10. This was the one and only year of the 3rd gen f-body to recieve this transmission.

Let me restate... It was an 82 Trans Am, with a Hurst Competition Plus on it. The tranny was a Saginaw, I'm 100% sure of that fact. Sorry, I got mixed up call it Camaro. Bad Ryan... :-)

I am pretty sure the actual shifter is the same. Just different linkages and adjustments. I may have one of those hurst shifters coming for my camaro so if I get it you can have a peek. BTW I still want to check out your car sometime msquared .

Hey Cory,

I haven't been been to my folks place except to drop the car and pick it up since we last spoke. :-) I may be out there this weekend to do the shifter install. I bought the install kit at Mopac today. PM me your phone number if you're going to be free, and I'll give you a shout. I may be camping all weekend though, so it may not happen until next weekend.

~Ryan
