does anyone know about how much hood clearance a 750 holley carb needs to run the way it should. drag racing of course.

Im only getting bout 3-4 inches right now and want to know if thats enough?

oh i forgot to mention...........my hood is not cowl. its factory flat and I also forgot about my nitrous plate that will go on later. that will bring it down to 2 1/2-3 inches clearance. i think this will suffocate the carb. anyone agree? or will this still be enough air to suck?????

dont want to get a cowl so scratch that.

a friend of mine had that problem he picked up about a tenth when he installed a cowl induction due to the weight savings and the extra air space. the shorter and straighter the path of air has to travel then the better.
