Help me line my engine out!

Can anyone here tune a Holley? I'm going insane trying to set up my double pumper.
i've got 72s in front and 74s in the back
4.5 power valve up front and block off out back
31 squirters in both ends
I get good idle and decent drivabilty but if i floor it from an idle it pops back. floor it from 3000 and up i'm at 6000 before i know it, so that rules out an ignition problem(coil/plugs/wires all new)
I've recurved the distributor and picked up a little response and the initial timing is at 12 and max w/ advance is 38.

this is on a 355 SBC w/ a victor intake, ported ZZ4 heads, 11.75:1 comp and CompCams XE 274 cam.

thanks for any input in advance.

things i've done:
I added more timing and it cleared up a little. I added the PV instead of 2 block offs, cleared out a little, went to 72 jets in front from 68 still better. BUt it will stumble then back fire hard if i nail it off the line. But like I said from a roll at 3k it will light the tires up.

Buy their wide band O2 hand held meter and start tuning. Best tool you will ever own for the price. It's so quick that I can tune my accelerator pump shot. You will be amazed how small changes can change the tune.
