Hei or MSD?

Which one do you guys prefer? Right now I have an HEI system, and its time for a tune up and I was thinking about going with msd. What would you recommend for a 79 350 bored .30 over?

If you want to save money, just buy an accel super coil for your HEI. It will provide plenty of spark for you. I have one on both of my 406s and have never had any problems. I even shift at 7000rpm on the high power motor. But you have many more options with an MSD box (rev limiters, start retard etc) it just depends if you have the money to buy a complete system.

if i were you i would get the MSD pro billet dist., 8.5 mm wires, blaster 2 coil, and the 6AL box with the rev limiter

i have to say i am very impressed with the msd dist. i bought.

timing is alot more stable then it was with the hei.

i wanna replace the hei in my truck soon.
but the msd6 box made a hell of a difference over the stock module.

I agree on the super coil, i LOVE those things, but i wouldn't do it because if you go MSD, you'll need a new coil anyway (presuming you are talking about the HEI super coils)

Did you notice a better throttle response at all?
