Headers/Tranny suggestions for new motor?

Hi there,
I have a 1970 rs camaro, that's ~95% restored. As of right now it has a less than amazing gm 350 crate motor in it. I didn't put it there, and I'm not sure on the trans, it looks to be a turbo 350 automatic.
Within the month, I plan to switch out the motor. I'm planning on putting this (http://www.jegs.com/p/Blueprint-Engi...97263/10002/-1) 383 stroked fully assembled good to go dress motor in there. I'm also planning on selling the current motor, and trans for very cheap...
The questions I have are the following-
What transmission should I put into it?
What long tube headers would you suggest I pick up?
How much can I get for the current motor and trans (I'm only hoping for a few hundred)

Links to the parts your suggesting would be greatly appreciated, via jegs, summit, ebay, etc etc. I would prefer to spend less than 1000 on the trans, and less than 400 on the headers. Thanks in advance.

Keep the trans and have it rebuilt from a reputable trans shop with a tci kit u supply(so u dont get a $49. rebuild kit they supply. Get a 2200-2500 stall converter. Should have less than 700 in whole thing. I would recommend hooker competition headers ceramic coated. Thats my 2cents but keeping the trans will save some nickels

Price will depend on the condition of the parts. If there is a decent trans shop in your area, I agree with the idea of having your current trans rebuilt, unless it's a basket case. Most of the time all they need are new "soft parts" and proper cleaning and reassembly. As far as what you can buy from Jegs or Summit, the TCI "Streetfighter" would be fine. ATI currently has a special price on their "TH350 Street Rod Transmission & Converter Package". The tranny is a step above the TCI and their converters are among the best.

Great call rskrause. Have to agree with almost everything u say on here. Sounds like a great deal if the stock trans doesn't work

I would say get some vortech heads for that less then stellar 350 and nice air gap intake decent carb 650 cfm is my preference but you can go 700 or 750, headers I have Hooker Super Competition Headers they are always a sure bet for good power. you can keep the trans and do a rebuild or purchase a new one. I've blown 3 TH-350s in my car making just over 400 hp have finally gone with the TH-400 and so far its holding up....but bolting a TH-400 will require a slight driveshaft mod...3.75 in. cut off..my .02

Hooker probaly has a cut sheet to size your header tubes based on your hp & cubic inch. They are usually 1 5/8" or 1 3/4" tubes.

My orginal 327 called for the 1 5/8 headers.

I personally like the hooker comps. My best friend runs 9.12 at 139 in a 3100lb 68 chevelle with a home built th350 thinking we would blow them to pieces and so far no failures. 3 years and 1 clutch replacement after the first year just because it should have blown.
