Got some loose wires - what are they?

Got some loose wires - what are they?

First one comes out of the firewall and looks like this below:


Firewall Wire

Second one comes out of the wiring harness that goes into the the back of the alternator. It is green wire with a brown collar on it.

Alternator? Wire


This probably has something to do with my lighting problems in my other post.

The first is a ground strap either from the firewall to the subframe or the firewall to the engine. The second pic won't let me see it.

The green wire appears to be a temperature sending wire - but where does it connect to?

looks like it would be a water temp sensor plug that goes in the side of the head or the block near the headers
