Gangsta Lean

I thought I saw this posted before, but I couldn't find it using the search. My car has, for a lack of better terms, a gangsta lean. If you look at my car from the back, the rear end kinda kicks an inch lower to the left than it does to the right. I checked the tire pressure and the pressure on both left tires was about 10 PSI off of where it should be, but I still have a slight lean after filling the tires. Think it could be suspension or could I possibly have twisted the car slightly? My 327 has some output, but I don't think it's enough to put any twist on the body. Any easy way to check without blowing a grand on new dampers and springs? The car does creak a bit when pulling into the driveway or going over a speedbump, so it probably is time for some new stuff

good set of air shocks will fix the lean but wont help your suspension

All 1st gens have this problem. Usually its attributed to bad springs, but sometimes they even lean a little when those have been replaced. If the springs are new, you can try replacing the shocks. Air shocks will allow you balance then out, however I'm not a huge fan of them so I'm willing to sacrifice a slight lean for an improvement in performance.

Yeah, my gearhead buddy also suggested air shocks, but this isn't a show car, it's my street hotrod As long as everybody else has the lean I'm fine with a little ghetto style off the back end of my car. I just didn't want to have the only 1st gen cruising around with a little shimmy to the left, you know?

Actually you'd be an oddball if it didn't have a slight lean to it.

Just FYI (if you didn't already know anyway...)

Air shocks have been around for a long time...you run a valve usually under the rear license plate or something and use a tire inflator to fill em up and jack the rear up/down/left/right usually for a performance improvement at the racetrack. Air bags are usually used by show cars/trucks who want to 'lay rail' by dropping all 4 corners to basically rest the car on the ground. The latter setup replaces springs, whereas the air shocks don't.
