Final decission; a Blown 502 from Scoggin-Dickey....

Hello Everyone, Just wanted to ask everyone's opinion on my decission.
I'm going to go with a SD short block {unless I hear some negitive replys on my decission}. They have a blueprinted and balanced
502 big block short block for $4999 {#1256878BP}...GM gen VI block, forged crank & pistons, steel rods. They will put in a blower cam for me
for an extra $75 {labor only of course}, plus the cost of the cam. This has
8:75 to 1 compression with 119 cc heads. But I found a set of heads that
are made by Dart that have 141 cc's. This would put my compression at around
7:63 to 1. Purr-fect for a blower motor. Then run either an 8:71 unless I can save some extra money before 'blower purchace time' & then I'm thinking of a
Whipple. Oh, the heads there are several part #'s depending on which ones you get {either 119 cc or 141cc, w/CNC or wo}. #'s 16300000 thru 16600000. I'll call Dart to get the exact number. How do I post attachments on this site??? I'll just post the Dart spec. sheet. I'd like everyone's opinion....
SD seemed like a good choice. Agree??? Thanks Bill
HAPPY 4TH. OF JULY EVERYONE!!!

Sounds like a good plan to me. I can't find fault with any of it. I say go for it.

You post stuff by using the advanced features and "pointing" to a URL that contains whatever you're trying to link into the post. I don't do it real often myself.

Thank You Damon, This evening I'll attenpt to post the spec sheet on
the heads. I don't want to end up with a mis-matched combination....

If I recall correctly, Car Craft used that short block with AFR 305 "as cast" heads and a YS trim Vortech and got, I think... 920hp.

Just pointing out that the 305's have some real nice potential and they aren't the most expensive heads either.
