exhaust ?

OK.....I've decided on either the flowmaster 40 series. Or the Borla XR-1 Sportsman Oval. Both 3 inch. I want to know which muffler is louder and which one produces the most power. I know I'm gonna dump it right after the muffler. The motor is a 468 with a 1050 Dominator 3500 stall Blah Blah Blah. Around here 3 inch is all anyone can do. I hope it's not too small. Anyways let me know what you guys think. Will be ordering them in the next few days.

Thanks,
Bubba

My guess is you're giving up about 50-75 hp using the 3 inch and FM 40, over what was recommended in your other exhaust thread.

IMO, If your 468 has enough breathing ability to need the 1050, 'stuffing a sock' in the exhaust seems to be the wrong move. Nobody said it was going to be easy.

Good luck.

On page four you can see pics of my exhaust. I was able to get 3.5" pipes with 3.5" Redline Racing Mufflers.
I had mine done at a local custom exhaust shop for less than 290.00 out the door. From the headers back.
I can't begin to tell you how much I like the way it sounds.

Re: exhaust

either way 3 inch piping is going to be loud as hell. Its too loud i think. My friend has 3 inch on his mustang and delta flow 40 series and yeah its really cool but it gets old soon. In response to your question i would go with the 40 series flow's, or maybe just go to the delta flows because they have better scavaging which if your looking for more power will be better.
