Is the EFI MULTIPORT KIT worth the money?

okay. i have a 67 camaro 350 right now. im gettin a sluggish 6-8 mpg city. becuase im pushing about 375 horsepower. i have a turbo 350 tranny so no O.D. im lookin for a lil better performance and way better gas mileage.

How much would i get for gas mileage if i got the edelbrock EFI MUTLIPORT KIT and tossed on a 700r4 tranny.

i either wanna do this or put in a new ls1. the efi kit would be way way easier. but not as cool. but what would be better?

For referencein my '80, I'm running about 350hp in my 350. I run a Q-jet, T56, 3.42 rear gears, and I get 18/23. I used to get 25mpg highway, but my new cam is not as happy at 1500rpm@65mph, so mileage is the same in 5th or 6th on the highway.

I commute about 20 miles each way to work, on city streets (maybe 20 stoplights total, and I catch 1/2 of those), and I'm getting 19mpg average, with AC on.

I'm still working on slight improvements, but somewhere around 18/25 is going to be the max on a 1st or 2nd gen, due to the "brick-through-the-wind" aerodynamics.

My point is, that a properly-tuned carb will get you decent mileage as well. No need to throw money at a problem that has a "free" solution. Put an O2 sensor in the header collector, and dial in the carb.
