Are the trick flow 23 Deg alum heads any good? Ithink they have a 195 cc intake runner. I also thaught i would run a 13.8 ish but runing at the track is A LOT different than on the street. Although i have 4.10 gears a 4-speed and a open diff. on 255 street tires. On the 14.4 run i pulled a 2.2 60'
The bigger heads will give you more peak HP and Torque, and if you want fastest 1/4 mile times then you should probably go with them. But remember on the street just cruising around it won't be as strong because it will make all its power up top. However, you can actually make less HP all around if your heads are too big for your cam. I'd say select a cam, talk to that manufacturer, and then get their opinions on heads, and go with one of the ones they recommend.
Also, that Edelbrock cam is old. I'd recommend going with a Crane or Comp Cams. Edelbrock is more of an intake and head specialist, Crane and Comp are specialists on cams, so you could probably get a cam with less duration and more lift that would make just as much, if not more, hp and still make more vacuum and not lope as much at idle. Basically, it would be more streetable.
