which cam for my 350 chevy engine (no emissions)
i need some fast advice on ordering my cam for a 56 chevy pickup .
i wan't a nasty cam that will scare people and won't give problem's cruising. i think on a 110 lsa, and i would like to use stock heads.
this truck is a show truck that only sees at the most 100 miles a month!

that's kind of what i want but the summit tech guy's said i could only go with xe262h, all though i never listen to them.
so the 274H will work great with stock compression out of a 350 gm crate engine.?

GM crate motors typically have pretty mild compression ratios. Around 9:1, give or take a smidge. Follow Summit's advice on this one. The XE262 is not a grocery getter cam. It's got some bite. Duration is around 218* @ .050. With old style stock heads anything much over 220* @ .050 is giving away more torque than you'll never make up for with increased peak HP. Not a good idea for a street-driven motor with mild gearing and a near-stock stall torque converter.
Follow Damon's advise. Do NOT go to big on the cam. You will loose power rather than gain. When I bought my velle 4 years ago it had a stock 350 SBC with a large cam in it and it sounded mean but went no where fast !!!
Good luck with it.

UPDATE !!
I SENT IT BACK AND WENT WITH THE CRANE CAM'S ENERGIZER 274h, IT'S ON A 106 LSA, I REALLY LIKE HOW IT SOUND ON BAMAZ28 SOUND CLIP.
DURATION IS AT 118 AND LIFT IS AROUND A .450''

I knew you would like it
I actually took those heads off, and are selling them to finance some brand new aftermarket aluminums
Let me know how your times are, I have seen people running that cam into the high 12's in 2nd gens

cool, i just bought some iron heads that have 2.02 /1.60 valves, 76cc 882s, is that good compared to the stock gm crate heads? and are rebuilt with a three angle valve job. w
what do you think ? is that cam still ok or should i go bigger than the 274h since those heads will take a .510 lift cam ? any suggestion's would help!

I would stick with the XE274 for now. You can always upgrade. Also, you could use 1.6 instead of 1.5, to get some lift. Make sure you got some flat tops at least with those big combustion chambers. Need to keep the compression 9.2:1 or above for the cam. You will like it don't worry
