a/c heater fan rem & ins
a/c heater fan rem & ins
Does anyone know of a website that will instruct me how to change my a/c heater fan on a 79 Camaro? All it does is blow on low, even when in med and on high. I have the fan to put in it, but I have no clue how to put it in. Hopefully its not a hard as changing my Heater core. Thanks!
I have the same problem but I don't think it's the motor. I actually think its something to do with the switches that are on the "suitcase". I haven't gotten that far but I do know that if I play around with the wires I have had the thing cranked to high. One of the ways to replace it is on lifts with the RF tire removed and the inner fender bent out of the way, sound familiar? I do know that it is very easy to R&R with the fender off. You might want to talk to an A/C place about that issue before you do a Steve thing and start ripping things apart. If the fan works then I THINK the motor is OK.
Good luck,
Steve King
PS, make sure that the in-line fuse in the engine compartment works.

actualy ill bet it is harder than the heater core. you have to either cut a hole in the wheel well (there is a stamped mark to show wher you have to cut) or you ahve to remove the wheel well (some people call it the inner fender) its a MAJOR PITA
however, I agree with SLO, if the fan works, especialy in high, thats not the problem. on my old TA, I found that there is a little resistor thingy in between the interior wiring and the motor. this is what controls the speed i belive. its probalby shorted out. you shoudl be able to replace it easily. if you trace the wires you shoudl be able to tell if the resistance is the same through the whole thing..
