broken valve springs
If he bent pushrods you'll probably want to check the cam and lifters, and maybe even pull the head to make sure he didn't smack a valve with a piston.
I dunno if you guys have checked yet but I would have to, pushrods don't just bend when they feel like it.
I don't know what springs and push rods to suggest though. Sorry.

he had it checked out and that is what the guy said
as far as the cam he was going to smaller anyways when he switched to an auto.the guy told my buddy he dosen't thing he smacked any pistons because the valve stayed in the keepers.when he had it at the shop they repaired one and it ran fine but on his way home he broke one again so he is a little worried to drive it so he figured he would upgrade but doen't know what best.thanks

I had Crane Springs designed for the .5 lift cam in my '80Z. Worked for years. Try www.SummitRacing.com they have tons of stuff at good prices. Later>>>>>>
