body question

I've recently bought a 1968 chevrolet camaro conv. I'm rebuilding it but I have a question about the bottom of the body. On this website (http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/510723) there is a picture of the bottom. There are 2 metal structures (see red arrow) , is this normal for a 68 chevrolet camaro convertible?
Thanks!!

No.
It appears that this car has aftermarket subframe connectors.

Having those there though is a good thing, it strengthens the frame of the car so you don't experience twist in higher horsepower engines.

I've noticed that the side marker lights have been deleted. there were two on each side of car one on the front fender and one on the back quarter panel. And also on the front lower valance panel it looks like parking lights in it from a RS model.

Nice car, what color are you gonna go with? Sticking with red or another?

Great looking car. Could use a little cleaning up underneath, but still good for a 68.

I'm having a tough time figuring out which looks better though, you, or the car. Very nice pic of yourself.

Yeah subframe connectors,Especially important on a convertable that cant rely on the roof for extra support.

If you are one of those persons going for a 100% factory original, I would leave them on. they are only saving the car from experiencing body flex, which doesnt do any car good.

I have sfc's on my 95

That's possibly because her 68 Camaro is an export model? (She's located in Belgium.)

I'm pretty sure the side marker lights were only a US requirement in 1968.

I say keep it red. There's nothing better than a red Camaro convertible!

Looks like you've had a little work done on your car according to the pics, that's good. Do the job right the first time I say.

Mine is a ’67 and yours is a ’68 but there are a lot of things in common. I don’t have subframe connectors on my car but there is a pair in my garage. I’m kinda torn whether to put them on now or wait to see if I need to later. The body is currently straight.

How is the top working for you? Is it a manual or electric? I moved from a desert to a wetter area so I’m discovering the top isn’t sealing so well.

As mentioned it looks like you might have a few RS parts on your SS and that’s OK it looks nice.
