I have a 79 Z-28 and Im restoring the interior. I already have the seats covered in black factory OEM vinyl. Im stuck on the color of the carpet. Should I go black carpet, or a different color? I was thinking Grey carpet with grey head liner and grey rear window panel where the speakers mount. Does anyone have any helpful ideas?

 

what color is the exterior of the car? At the shop if we run with black seats, we stay with black carpet and mats. Plus I also look to have darker colored carpet for the obvious reason of the floor getting dirty.

 

IMO, all black interior is the way to go.

 

The exterior color is the original White with Orange decals. however Im going to get it painted in about 6 months. Any color I go with will look good with black interior. I just think of ALL BLACK INTERIOR and I dont know if it would look better with a different color carpet and panels. All black does sound really nice though.

 

All I know is that my dad's '73 has a black interior, as well as an old '77 Firebird that we had years ago, and they look sweet! My '81 Z28 also had a black interior when I first got it, but the seats were in rough condition, and I ended up getting a full tan interior that was in mint condition so I switched it, but my personal preference is still for black (carpet, seats, door pads, dash). I guess I'm just not one for "two-tone"?!
