blown engine, what can be salvaged?

I am planning on building up my 327 instead of stroking it out due to limited funds. I will later on rebuild bottom end with 383 stroker kit.

lets say i blow the motor up some how (piston seizes up or something, no split block or anything)

could i still reuse the heads? maybe have them rebuilt?

hell, a "bulletproof" forged 383 bottom end will be in my budget a few years down the road

you should be able to unless the piston hits the heads then you got to rebuild.but i would rebuild any ways. you should be good. and do a 377 stroker it runs better.

recently looked into doing this on a V6 head and to grind down the valves etc., on one side the machine shop quoted about $100.
