Post Axle

Well I was doing a dumb fishtail around a corner and I did a 180 into the curb. My rear passengers side rim is obviously bent. So I drove home going walking speed and the *** end of my car was shaking back and forth. I'm going to get it checked out tommorow, But would it be just the rim I have to worry about or could I have bent the axle or something? Any info would be great, thanks.

When you have the wheel off you should check the axle flange for straightness. It could have been bent but it is unlikely. Most probably your rim took the hit. Something have to give and take the energy when it is hitted. Hopefully it was the rim that took it all.

To check the axle flange have the car on jackstands and run it on firstgear at idle rpm. Then you can see if the axle is wobbling. To see it best take of the brakedrums as well.

Good luck

Jan
