Post ANY Thoughts?? on an 81 Z suspension

what do yall think about tha suspension and handling of an 81 Z28...also what can i do to make it better....other than poly front bushings.... are alum body mounts too harsh or will it end up handling better...it'll mainly be street and i do have subframe connectors too put it...i also wanna try to keep traction probs to a min. but have good acceleration.....also deos any1 know the backspacing needed to get p295/15R tiresor should i go with 17" or what????
thanks alot!!!!!!!!

I have 295-50-15 Radial T/A's on my 71. 10" rim with 5" backspace. But it ended up rubbing on fender lip a little, so I rolled it up. If I had to do it over again, would try 10.5" bs to tuck in tires slightly.

Regardless of whether you want to corner or accelerate better, you need to remove all the rubber and slop from the suspension. They make poly subframe mounts, which are a little quieter than the aluminum. Neither are that bad on the street. I am replacing all the bushings front and rear with poly in my 70. For handling, I would go with the 17", for drag racing, the taller sidewall on a 15" would help out traction. I chose 17's for mine, 17 x 8 with 4" bs fit fine, you can go to a 9 or 11 inch on back if you do a little tweaking. I decided on the same size front and back, so I could rotate my tires
