Any HP gains from using COOL CAN ?
I've used one for the past couple of years because I thought it would improve consistency in bracket racing. I didn't notice any particular increase in power, either in ET or MPH, and don't really know if it has helped any in the consistency department.
I didn't use it in Topeka or Pomona because, 1) I didn't need to go any faster, actually needed to slow it down a little, and 2) didn't want to hassle with finding ice while away from home. It didn't seem to affect the outcome too drastically.

cooling your fuel wont help much, the biggest gain you can get is cooling your air. air gets denser as it gets colder, denser burns better. fuel does not change density quickly enough to be affected.

No,you put scalding hot water in it.
The more the fuel boils, the better...............better perculation.

Ouch! Gotta hate it when ya get the crack smoke in your eyes at the keyboard...yeow that's where the nastiness comes from. hehehe
Actually, a hot air engine (heated the fuel and incomming air for a more homogeneous mixture), as it was called, pounded out the horsepower and fuel ecomomy. See Smokey Unik (sp?).
Seems like the only thing I ever noticed with a cool can was the fuel pump had a hard time pushing fuel through all that extra line while maintaining pressure under load.

Re: Any HP gains from using COOL CAN ?
I did some math as far as supercooling fuel and all....wether running dry ice (CO2) or liquid nitrogen.....and if you ran a specific number of coils (more than what is in the cool cans you buy) and used dry ice (shaved and packed in there) you'll cool the fuel to a point above its freezing point.....the liquid nitrogen was just TOO cold and venting it off would be a problem.
Regular ice isn't gonna do anything really.....it WOULD if it was an liquid to air IC.....

Re: Any HP gains from using COOL CAN ?
I appreciate the replies with your researched answers and all BUT I have decided NOT to use the cool can.
I am just going to spray the heck out of the thing this next year....
