79 305 Engine oil chioce

I just purchased a 79 Camaro with a 305 engine. For the looks of the car and engine it appears that the 55K on the odometer is ACURATE. I can't see how this car would have 155K on it based on the condition. My question is regarding an oil choice and oil filter choice for this engine. I plan on changing both at a 5K mileage interval. Thank you!

If your going to change it every 5000m you may as well use the manufactures recommended non-synthetic oil. Which I think is 10W30, check your owner manual.

Fram PH30 or PH5 which is the same but is longer and holds a bit more oil and has a larger filter element. I run them in all my old cars. 10W30 in the summer, 10W40 in the fall or when it's cold. Just my $.02

You've got that backwards. You should run the 10W30 in the winter and the 10W40 in the summer.

If I'm going cheap I use Valvoline 10w30 with a bottle of lucas and an AC Delco filter.
If I have the money I use Mobile1 15w50 and a Mobile1 filter.
