69 Camaro lowering questions
69 Camaro lowering questions
Hi everybody. Newbie here. I have a 69 Camaro and it needs new springs, definately in the rear - main leaf on driver's side is bent, but im probably going to do all around. Now, im thinking about lowering it a little bit. Im still not sold on the idea completely, but its something ive been thinking about doing for a while now and since i need new springs anyway, i figure why not. Anybody have any experience with lowering these cars. I was looking at the hotchkis leaf spring kit(1-1/2" drop) for the rear and their sport spring kit(2" drop) for the front. The wheels and tires I have on the car are 15x8 American Racing Torq Thrusts at all 4 corners with BFGoodrich Radial T/A P215s on the front and P255s on the rear. Would I have to modify anything else for this to fit the car? Any suggestions as to other companies or leaving the car the stock ride height?
Re: 69 Camaro lowering questions
i have the 2 in hotchkis on the front of my car and i love the way it looks....the rear springs are kinda hard to remove on these cars but when i get ready ill be lowering the rear of mine
Re: 69 Camaro lowering questions
With that wheel and tire combination, you won't have to modify anything(providing the BS on the wheels is standard).
Since you're looking for suggestions, we're running a Group Purchase on my website for Detroit Speed parts. They have 2" drop and 3" drop leafs. Click here for the Group Purchase details.
With my mini-tub project, I went with the 3" drop.
