69 Camaro With 93 Z28 Drivetrain
69 Camaro With 93 Z28 Drivetrain
I have a 69 camaro rolling chassie and a wrecked 1993 Z28 I would like to use the engine, trans, and rearend and as much of the interior as I can in the 69. Anybody done this or have any links to sites that has info on how to make this all work together. Any help would be app.
Re: 69 Camaro With 93 Z28 Drivetrain
Post this question in the "hybrids" section at lt1tech.com Some of our members have 69's with LT1's. I also have a 1st gen Camaro with an LT1. Do a few searches. This has been discussed MANY times before on lt1tech.com

As far as the interior, I've seen it done, but that doesnt make it any easier. Do you just wanna uise the seats, or are we talking the WHOLE interior, that could be a beast of a project, but with enough money anything is possible

As has been said post this on pro-touring.com or lateral-g.net or lt1tech.com and you'll get plenty of answers. I just did this in my 69 camaro (kept the old interior though) and it took 1 month to put everything in and get it started (with a T56). If you're using a T56 look into www.t56kit.com or the same kit availiable from BMR for the trans part of it. Your old motor mounts will work, i used my stock radiator with long hoses, electric fan from a SN95 stang (mark VIII fan). And if you want to keep a little money in your pocket dont use the Painless wiring send your engine harness to www.lt1350.com. They did an awesome job for me and everything works just like it should for a fraction of the price of the painless kit. I mounted the computer in the glove box, and used the headers and had to modify the exhaust just slightly to clear the new crossmember. Gas tank is a modified stock 69 tank to use the intank 94 pump but i've heard quite a few people using electric inline pumps.
Email me and i have a few pics to give you an idea of what you need to do or if you have questions i can probably answer them. Keep the FI it's worth it for the extra cool factor and mileage. My total swap including the wrecked 94Z was about 3k.
