350 chevy motor info

I had just acquired a sbc350 and had some questions

It appears that the deck was milled so I can't get any numbers

Some one told me to look on a machine pad for numbers. I can't find a machine pad anywhere. Any help with that

Was told it was a 383 stroker

It's a 3970010 casting block and has 010 and 38 stamped everywhere, what is this for?

I looked up the Number behind pass head j 16 8 and it was made October 16 1968 am I correct?

I ripped apart the block it had I guess iron heads?

They have a 7959 on them what is this ?

I'm unsure about that,is there any way to tell?

It has trw or speed pro L2256 .030 pistons

Gm stamped rods

Gm stamped crank with the # 3932442

it has Manley guide plates,Manley rods and really big 1.5 roller rockers stamped with USA on them

I can't find any more numbers

I removed lifters and they seem to be a solid roller.

it is a four bolt main block. is there a way to tell if it was splayed or if it was a sock 4 bolt

I will be taking wp and timing cover off within the week To check cam

Just wondering if someone can give me some info on this

Thanks guys for the help

Sounds like a 355 w/the 30 over pistons. If the main bolts go into the block straight, then its a regular 4 bolt block. Splayed mains the bolt goes in on an angle. Could be a 383, depends on the stoke of the crank, and rod length.

Ok here is the question how do I check rod length and crank stroke. I guess it is a stock four bolt cause the bolts are straight in.

Re: 350 chevy motor info

the crank ending in 442 means it is a cast crank 3.48 stroke.

Re: 350 chevy motor info

So I'm assuming it's a 350 crank so it's a 355
