Well you can think what ever you want. But your still wrong!!!

I have two corvette 327s . . . 2 bolt mains. NO 327 4 bolt was ever made no matter the horsepower rating.
327s were and are still a very popular engine . . . they had excellent power throughout the rpm range . . . a very good engine. But of coarse there is no replacement for displacement!!! Rats rule!!

i guess we should be using 302's instead of 383's then, huh? a 302 has a FAR better stroke to con rod ratio.
The 302 was a leagendary Trans-Am racing engine.

I think half the reason way 327's have a magical name is none were made after emisions. Means most 327's are atleast 250hp.

67 and 68 camaros, etc. with small blocks that had a standard transmission all came with an air pump (smog pump) on them. I have a 68 elcamino with a 327 with standard trans and the air pump. I also have a 68 camaro 327 standard trans with the air pump system.

Debating the best small block has been the subject of a decade or so worth of bench racing arguments and will probably always re-surface with no clear right answer. The key is determining the intended use, then arriving at a combination of components to meet your use…Mostly it boils down to just how much effort, money and time one is willing to devote to it.

Only 67's with std trans sold in California got the air pump. in 1968 the air pump became std. everywhere with the std trans.

Yes, thanks for clarifying . . . 67 cal only standard trans cars. All 68 standard trans with pump. I am from california so I wasn't sure if they were also outside of cal or not. Saw the pump on my friends 67 camaro in 1977.
