A 72 is a second gen Camaro. The main issues with these or any cars of that age will be rust in the lower 1/4 panels, rear window ledge, lower door/fender areas. If you plan on driving this immediately and fix up as you go have a mechanic do a check on the engine and drivetrain.

Take a look at www.nastyZ28.com Probably the most comprehensive 2nd Gen site.

Do you want an RS front end? or a non-RS front end?
A Z-28? or Don't care?
Numbers Matching? or don't care?

Personally, I like the 1972 Non-RS front SS or Z28

Some Highlights of the 1972:
Coarser grille mesh.
3 point shoulder harness debuted in mid year.
Door panels restyled, include map pockets & change holder.
Speedometer reads 130 max, down from 150
Hurst Shifter no longer used
Last year for Super Sport Model
Last year for Big Block engine
First year specific engine type is coded in VIN

As far as General Buying tips:
1) THE MOST EXPENSIVE WORK TO DO ON A 2ND GEN IS REAR FRAME RAILS...
2) Make sure all the "small parts" are there.. interior, trim, etc...

Is this the type of infor you are looking for?

Well, if the car is cheap, and you're not interested in a project, lemme know so I can take a look at it

But if you DO get it and want me to take a look at it, lemme know as well....I'm about 30 min north of Philly....
