Post Is a 1969 X-66 code always a SS?

I guess that is my question. I have an 1969 396 X-66 but want to find out if the car was originally an SS car. It has 12 bolt rear. 3.31 gear, front disc brakes.... there is no code on the tag as to 4N or 4K

any ideas

Yes, a 1969 Camaro with the X66 on the trim tag is an SS396. As long as it doesn't have a fake or replaced trim tag that is. The SS396 would also have the 12 bolt rear, multileaf rear springs and the hood hinge springs should have more coils to it to support the SS hood which is heavier than the standard hood.
