1965 Corvette 327
1965 Corvette 327
Hey guys, I have an old 1965 Corvette 327 block, crank, and rods, plus aftermarket pistons just kinda sitting around cluttering up my garage. I was going to rebuild the motor and stick it in my Camaro, but I've decided to go with an early 70's 4 bolt main 383 stroker for it. You think this stingray block is worth anything? I'm thinking about selling it if it'll turn a decent price. I think the block is only .020 over, so it's still very usable. In fact, I don't even think it needs a new bore as the heads were causing my oil consumption problem.
Re: 1965 Corvette 327
If it is a Corvette engine, could be worth a lot to someone restoring a 65. Might want to research the code/casting #s. Guys at corvetteforum.com could give you an idea of what it might be worth.
BTW, good decision on building bigger. With SBCs, I've run 327s, 350s & finally 400s. Bigger is better.

Re: 1965 Corvette 327
It's definitely a properly cast '65 'vette 327 block. I'd imagine the Forged 327 crank and rods are the ones that came with it too, since it wouldn't make sense for someone to go out and buy a new GM forged 327 crank
I'll check that forum, see if anybody is interested. Oh, and my 383 should be mean as soon as I find the cash to finish the project. I only have the rotating assembly in the block right now.
