99 SS - good deal or not?
Hello everyone. Longtime lurker, infrequent poster. I am FINALLY taking the plunge, moving on from my 95 3.4L to a Z28 or SS.
I test drove a SWEET 99 SS Saturday, here's the specs:
M6, T-Tops, navy Blue, 1 owner, 41K miles, very well kept car. Drove like a dream...
Here's my problem: The price seems a bit high. KBB.com has it at $14,900, and they're asking $16,900 (that's on "SALE" from $18,900) and won't budge. It's a great car, but I was really looking for an '02 so i could get an extended warranty as well. The dealership is willing to give me $1500 for trade in on my 95, but I still think the starting price is too high. Or is it?
Please help, my wife may change her mind soon about my getting a Z28 or SS!!

price is high, you could get better deal from private party, plus usually alot better history.
Always you will get better price selling your car outright. Unless of course they mask the added "trade in" inflation in the marked up retail price

ya thats way to high for a 99 SS , there are 02 SS's selling for that, i'd look else where or throw them an offer, and you might be able to get a little more for ur v6 if you try to sell to someone urself, also i agree with corona, try to buy an SS from a private seller you should get a better car, with all the records, past etc, goodluck
