No problem. I dont want to be a pain in the you know what but I have been flipping cars for quite some time now. What you got isnt bad, but its more than an hour of work and we both know that. I think $1800 as is with the box of parts is pretty fair considering I (or anyone for that matter) is really taking the rest of the car and mechanical stuff on your word. Not that you are a liar but you gotta look at it from someone elses point of view. Nothing can be tested that way it sits and its a weeks worth of work to make it all good to check everything else out. Its a bit of a gamble, once the money has changed hands and the new owner has the car, if it dont work there is nothing to do about it.

From what I can see in the pic the bolt hole needs a heli coil at a minimum to be fixed right. That requires pulling the head. That stud you got in there (looks like a bolt cut off which IS going to fail if I am right) is only going to last a short time before it fails. Probably the first or second heat cycle on the exhaust and its gonna loosen up and blow the gasket out again. Or worse yet if its not a grade 8 tapered lock stud it could break off in the head after getting hot a few times. It should have a bolt put back in there.

Did I mention that on my day job I am a field service tech for Caterpillar? I work on engines all day long, every day. I've drilled my share of broken bolts.

Its a hard top car. In tip top shape it should pull in about $4000. Like it sits... I think you just got the best offer you are gonna get. Even if you get it runnin with a stud in there like that and the other small issues I dont think you will bring that kind of money. I'm willing to do it and take the car off your hands. Honestly it looks like a real decent car and if its good I might even keep it and not resel it. I could use an F body around the house again. Just dont tell my wife I said that

I can understand your frustration though. These things dont always go so well. Cars break and can get to be a real pain when it piles up. If you think you can fix that without pulling the head then give it a shot but my bet is your gonna have to take the head off to fix it the right way.

If you want to sell me the car then I need to know by Wednesday. I have to go get my trailer and hit the bank. I can paypal you $500 as a deposit and bring the rest in either cash or a certified bank check. Your choice all I need is you info. I'll come up on Saturday and get it if you are available. I have family up that way so I might make a pit stop on the way home. I have family in Holbrook and Valley Stream.

Brian, I understand it all. "I feel ya" haha.

I will let you know Sunday night. I am going to open the hood again tomorrow and see what I can or cannot do. Then I will let you know.

I will also snap some close ups of the bolt hole.
