Dumbass, there's no sun damage, the picture posted there is of the chrome dash plaque. There is no sun damage whatsoever on this car, it's beautiful. Yes, it has a few small scratches. For a car that is 9 years old with 70k miles it is in fantastic shape in and out. Did you look at the pictures of the car? Geez man.

before you go and call someone a dumbass you should know what the hell you are talking about. First off, its not a dash plaque, its on the center console. Secondly, yes, it is sun damage, it is not chrome, it was originally black, it cracked due to the sun and flaked off.

Re: FS: 1996 Black Camaro SS #942

also, i just saw this thread right now,... im with bluebird,.. i think the LT1 SS's look bad ***, but you wanted 10k?? they have LS1 SS's selling for that, and even less then that,.. i have seeen MANY cleeeean 96-97 SS's sell for no where over $7500, not just onmesaasge boards, but locally too, they arent worth as much as you would hope, if you look at some of the past lt1 ss's selling on here, they have many that sold for 6-7k, there was a very clean green SS with 70-80k miles, that i think sold for $6000(no bull****) it was a 6spd too, and also the fact that you do have an auto, that hurts, auto's suck on these cars, im not gonna lie i've had 2 z28's that were autos. and they were boring and embarassing to drive, the 6 spd are MUCH more desired then an A4, ur car could maybe if lucky pull high $7k

Yea your opinions are a good reason why the car should be worth that

Personally the LS1 WS6s are my favorite.
2) 300+ HP
You do realize the 300 isn't a big deal when a year later the LT4 cars came out, and the LS1 cars came out 2 years later.
3) Over time, it will only appreciate in value.
Yes, at a certain point it will appreciate, unfortunantly, that time isn't here yet, its still on the downward slope.
4) Rare (Only 4th Gen SS that is ACTUALLY NUMBERED!!!)
So the LT4 SS cars weren't numbered?
5) No dorky day-time driving lights
You gotta hate safety features. Once again opinion.
6) No hideous "Bass-Mouth" front end fascia like 98+
Opinion, and I could say no awesome LS1 like the 98+...
7) Interior is better looking than 97+
Are you serious? I haven't heard anyone think the 93 ~ 96 interior was better than the 97+.This seems to be one thing most agree on...
8) Excellent platform for add-ons and mods.
Yeah because no other 4th gen LT1, or LS1 car responds as well bolt-ons.
9) Handles as good as a 2002, minus some braking advancements in later years.
Are you kidding? The LS1 brakes are ALOT better than the LT1. There is a reason the LS1 brakes are still such a hot commodity. The difference is night and day.
Cheapo Chevy AVEO is selling for $13K; EVO/WRX/SRT4 are all ~$20K
This has NOTHING to do with the value of a 96 SS... Also, performance wise, the EVO/WRX/SRT4 would be able to beat the SS on the road course, and beat/hang with it in the 1/4 mile.

Don't sell if you are getting low-balled. Your car is a lot rarer and better looking than other F-body cars around. Your car may not be recognized for its value today, but it will be.
See you could have not posted the diatribe above, and posted this, and kept it short and sweet.

It is nice to see so many people w/ opinions. Anybody care to share their opinion on the value of my 96 SS Vert w/ 6 speed? Only options are pwr seat/top, and CD. Red ext with black leather Int and around 65K. Now before you jump all over me about having to see it or giving precise details, simply state a low and high price. Now lets have some fun..........

assuming its in good shape, personally, I'd pay up to 10k for it. Maybe a little more.

Re: FS: 1996 Black Camaro SS #942

To close this thread out and hopefully end all of this arguing, thank you to all for your opinions and for those who were interested in my car. I started the car out where I did because everyone has to have a starting point. Apparently I value the car more than a lot of people do, which is ok, everyone has the right to their own opinion. To some people an automatic is less valuable, but not to everyone. Just like color is more valuable to some than others. When I was looking for an SS, I had criteria set down. I wanted a 96 or 97 because I preferred the styling. It had to be red or black because those were the colors I wanted. And it had to have T-Tops because I really enjoy driving with them off in the summer. I was willing to pay to get exactly what I wanted, and that's what I did. And I do believe that my car is exactly what some people out there want. I set my asking price where I did as a starting point and I would have been willing to come down, probably all the way down to 8.5k to someone who was SERIOUSLY interested in my car. Many of the people posting were seriously looking to get a good deal. I was looking to sell my car to someone who wanted THIS car, not someone just looking for the deal of the day. I think that is reasonable. That is my opinion, and I am entitled to it. That being said, I'm keeping the car now, because only one of my sports cars needed to go, and I couldn't be happier about it. I love my SS, and I've spent the last year getting her just the way I wanted her, and now I'll be keeping her. Best of luck to everyone looking for an SS, I hope you are all able to find just the car you are looking for.

I would just like to say that I would gladly pay 10,000 for this car and if you happen to decide to sell it again I'd be interested in making an offer.

Re: FS: 1996 Black Camaro SS #942

..might I add that I've wanted a black 1996 SS with an A4 and T-Tops for years. It even has the black leather interior AND low miles to make it sweet. You kept the car in beautiful condition, forget all the bull**** you recieved earlier, the car is worth alot more than some of the offers you were getting. Please consider me first if you do decide to sell again

Re: FS: 1996 Black Camaro SS #942

Thanks for the kind words. I needed to sell one of my cars because my new job is 30 miles away, and I'm now looking for a gas milage car for a daily driver. I don't know if I'd post a camaro for sale on this site again because of some of the sharks out there. Some of these guys make low-ball offers on everything that pops up. If you search LT1 SS's for sale, you'll notice that one particular person has made an offer on almost every one in the last 6 months, and yet not actually bought anything. He just rags on everyone and tells them how crappy their car is and how it's not worth anything. Keep looking for your SS though. I absolutely love mine, and while I was sad to sell the goat, I was very happy to keep my SS
