FS: 1996 Black Camaro SS #942

No Longer For Sale!

1996 Camaro SS #942

Black A4 with T-Tops and Black Leather Interior
70k Miles, PW, PL, Anti-Lock Brakes, Cruise Control, Cold AC

Flowmaster Exhaust, shift kit, MagnaFlow Cats, Mobil 1 Synthetic, Chrome ZR-1 Wheels P275/40/17s in the front, P315/35/17s in the back, bright red calipers.

Wheels and tires added 10/04, Complete Tune-Up 11/04, New brake pads, Passenger Window Motor replaced. Car runs perfect. Just took it on a 1300 mile trip to Tennessee and back. This car is my baby and it has been well taken care of.

Kenwood Head Unit with Pioneer Speakers. Two 12" Alpine Type E Subs with a 1200-watt Kicker Mono Amp in a custom box.

Car is mechanically sound with no problems. As stated above, it runs great and is very fast. The interior is very clean and in excellent shape. The exterior of the car is good but does have a little wear that is consistent with a 10 year old car. There are no dents at all, but a couple of scratches. Overall the car still looks fantastic. I am located in North Aurora, IL (40 miles west of Chicago). Please email me with questions at djmikeyz28@hotmail.com. $10,000.

No thanks, I'm looking to get more out of the car. Thanks for your offer.

I sold the exact same car but with a 6 speed, I got $7600. Thats what I was basing my offer on. Good luck with trying to get what you want out of it. Let me know if you come down to my ballpark.

I paid $10k for this car a year ago, and have put another $5k in since, so I think $10k is a fair starting point. I would appreciate all offers placed through email or PM. The car has only been for sale for a week, but I will listen to any reasonable offers.

Bluebird, I doubt your car was the "exact same car". And if you were serious about buying a car, any car, the first contact with the seller that you'd make wouldn't be a low-ball offer.

i wasn't trying to insult you or low ball you, it was a serious offer based on what someone who has sold the exact same vehicle received for his.

I had SS #1475. Black, grey interior, ttops, all SLP options, TT 2 wheels, new tires, etc etc.

At any rate, you clearly aren't interested in dealing, or know what these cars actually sell for, so good luck

Like it or not... it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it...

You offered me 70% of my asking price within an hour of the car going up for sale. You had never talked to me once before making an offer. Are you seriously interested in buying my car? No. That's obvious. You're just trying to pick up a car on the cheap. I understand that the car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I am familiar with what these cars "go for" as I looked for about a year to find a clean 96-97 SS with decent miles. The price posted is my asking price, yes, if the buyer is serious I am willing to entertain reasonable offers.

Re: FS: 1996 Black Camaro SS #942

A 1996 Z28/SS is worth at least$10K because:

1) Best looking 4th Gen F-body ever made
2) 300+ HP
3) Over time, it will only appreciate in value.
4) Rare (Only 4th Gen SS that is ACTUALLY NUMBERED!!!)
5) No dorky day-time driving lights
6) No hideous "Bass-Mouth" front end fascia like 98+
7) Interior is better looking than 97+
8) Excellent platform for add-ons and mods.
9) Handles as good as a 2002, minus some braking advancements in later years.

Cheapo Chevy AVEO is selling for $13K; EVO/WRX/SRT4 are all ~$20K

Don't sell if you are getting low-balled. Your car is a lot rarer and better looking than other F-body cars around. Your car may not be recognized for its value today, but it will be.

I made a serious offer based on what market value for lt1 fbodies is in my area. I've bought/driven/sold more fbodies then many people here, including yourself im sure. At any rate, after listening to your attitude, I'd never purchase a vehicle from you anyway.

You're just trying to pick up a car on the cheap.
the goal of anyone purchasing a car is to get it for as cheap as possible, which I was trying to do, maybe my offer was a tad low, but not low enough to be out of the ballpark and for you to take such offense.

I understand that the car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
exactly, at least you understand that

I did as well, took me 6 months to find my old SS as well as a flight down to NC to pick it up. At any rate, I'm done debating, I'm done with your car and your thread. If you get any more then 8k, I'd be very very very surprised

Re: FS: 1996 Black Camaro SS #942

Too bad this one's out of my price range. Ive been looking for a 96 SS in or near Wisconsin for over a year now.

If you want to trade it for a ultra clean 94 Mustang GT Convertible, gimme a holler.

I dont wanna get flamed but if cash is what you want, Ive got 6K.

Re: FS: 1996 Black Camaro SS #942

Thank you everyone for your interest and posts. I am looking to get in the neighborhood of my asking price, and at this point I am not looking to trade for anything. I appreciate all of the interest in my car. I have several local leads that are promising, but I will continue to listen and respond to anyone interested on the board.

Re: FS: 1996 Black Camaro SS #942

Sold the GTO today, so I will gladly be keeping the Camaro. Although I'm sad to sell the GTO. Too many toys, not enough income. Doh! Thanks to everyone that was interested in my car, and double thanks to all of the compliments I have received about it.

One last little point about my friend Bluebird...
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=368085

Notice half-way down the page how he says "well...LT1 SS's go for about 8-8500 in decent running shape".
Well, my car is quite a bit nicer than "decent", and yet he still offered me far below what he himself claimed that they sell for.
But you weren't trying to low-ball me, were you bluebird.

OK, I was done with this thread, and could care less about your car anymore, but since you felt the need to call me out, I will do the same.

That is correct, an LT1 SS in good shape can fetch that much. Your car isn't one of them.

Look here: http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...38_28_full.jpg
The black is completely peeled away due to sun damage. Have you ever called SLP about ordering a new one? They're close to $450 and have to be special ordered which can take 10 weeks. Strike #1

Your car is also an automatic, which as most can tell you isn't very desirable when it comes to a sports car such as this. Strike #2

You also state the car has scratches, not that there's anything wrong with them in a car that old, but if you're going to look for the high end of the pricing scale, the car should be on the high end cosmetically, meaning no scratches.

AGAIN, I am done with your thread, and your car, respond how you would like, but there will be no response from myself.
