Thanks again Tokuzumi, most of the 3rd gen's I've seen have fallen in that price range also -that's why it's priced at $4000 or best offer. I'm running out of time, any offers?

These cars where like 20,000 new. Which is about $800 in deprecation a year. That is a freaking amazing!!

pffft, who in the world wouldn't want to give away an 84? Consider what an 84 motor is; flat tappet hydraulic carb'd (or cross-fire which is worse than carb'd) dinosaur, with the less popular nose and tail lights vs. an 88 w/ a roller motor that's Fuel injected and has the more desirable nose, tail lights, interior, etc.

Not exactly a fair comparison in cars, is it? Especially when your doggin the mans asking price. Here's a good example for you about what book value is good for (slight sarcasm) I just recently sold my 1996 Impala SS that KBB'd and NADA'd for around 11k and sold it for 15k. It was so "overpriced" I had people calling my house all day every day into the late hours of the night. I had GI's calling me from the desert. A couple bought an airline ticket to fly in and drive it home. Yep, good ole' book value The same goes for Grand Nationals. Take a look at book on one of those then check out any autotrader or online site and see what they are going for? Third gens in this guys condition are now reaching that arena of what G-body's and B-body's are reaching above their respective book value.

Good luck with the sale.

to tell th truth id say 1,000-1500 range for the car anything above you could get a 93-97 lt1 car that would smoke one of these any day they start from 1700 - 5000 id say 5000 for a modded one if not they are still priced to high unless they have low miles i got my 1993 z28 for 1400.00 with 90,000 miles it will run right with ls1 cars or faster i have videos of stock 93 z28s running 13.89 and i think in motor trend mag that the either 98 or 99 camaro ss were running 13.99 and thats stick with 3.42 and higher horse engine but it all comes down to power to weight ratio it says on my door my car weighs 4,040 lbs and for ever 100lbs that the car has its rougly 10 horse give or take off the carso really it isnt worth the money to buy an ls1 car when u can get a lt1 that is almost the same car just with a diff engine in it and i know people will say different but i've raced everything from ls1 camaro ss to lt1s to corvettes the only thing ive seen that really halls is the 6.0L gto those have sum ***** but those have 400hp and 400 ftlbs of torque and they only run 13.5s or better o and a 2002 camaro ss 35th anv with the 345hp ls1 they run like 13.2s in the quarter it just depends on the options in the car that give u the advantage and gearingstock to stock the ls1 and lt1 arent very diff in quarter mile times though but your price range id say should for sure be from 1,000 to 1500.00 and it would be gone anything above that prolly wont get unless someone is stupid but try an get all u can get right lol o and im not tryin to put down ur thread or anything just tryin to throw out sum information sorry

No one is debating or talking about hp ratings. We are discussing value. Your LT1 cars were faster than my 96 Impala SS also, but my 12 year old Impala fetched $15k dollars. I could have bought 10 1993 LT1 cars for that price. Third Gens are not sought out for their power anymore, they are sought out for their collectible part of history and body style for those who still loves the 80's styling. I've had a 10sec LT1, a 9 second LS1 and now a potentially 8 second LSX. I'd still like to have another 3rd gen just for my above stated reasons.

If not, they are still priced to high, unless they have low miles. I got my 1993 z28 for $1,400.00, with 90,000 miles. It will run right with ls1 cars, or faster. I have videos of stock 93 z28s running 13.89, and i think in motor trend mag, either the 98 or 99 camaro ss were running 13.99, and that's stick with 3.42 and higher horse engine, but it all comes down to power to weight ratio. It says on my door my car weighs 4,040 lbs, and for every 100lbs that the car has, its rougly 10 horse give or take off the car. So really, it isn't worth the money to buy an ls1 car, when u can get a lt1 that is almost the same car, just with a diff engine in it. I know people will say different, but i've raced everything from ls1 camaro ss, to lt1s, to corvettes. The only thing I've seen that really halls is the 6.0L gto. Those have some *****, but those have 400hp and 400 ft-lbs of torque, and they only run 13.5s, or better. Oh, and a 2002 camaro ss, 35th anv, with the 345hp ls1 run, like, 13.2s in the quarter. It just depends on the options in the car that give you the advantage. And gearing stock to stock, the ls1 and lt1 arent very different in quarter mile times, though, but your price range, I'd say, should, for sure, be from $1,000 to $1,500.00, and it would be gone. Anything above that prolly won't get, unless someone is stupid. But try and get all you can get, right? Lol oh, and I'm not trying to put down your thread, or anything, just trying to throw out some information. Sorry.
I fixed your post, so others might be able to understand it.

F.y.i.

"The IROC-Z has now become a legend in the automotive world because they were only produced for just over 5 years. There were only 166,976 total IROC-Z's made during the years in production. If you subtract the ones that were totaled in accidents and the ones stolen and parted out, you don't have many left. They are fast becoming the modern era's vehicle of choice among collector's."
