Exclamation 1997 Camaro Z28 385 Stroker For Sale

I’ve decided that I have to move a car out, and it’s the Camaro as I need to make room for a new Z06.

The car has been meticulously maintained and garaged its entire life since I purchased new, fully optioned, in October 1996. It has never been wrecked, has a pristine clear title and looks great. The car/chassis has 57,298 miles on it and the engine has 455 miles on it (as of 7/7/08). List of professionally installed modifications below:

Engine:
Original LT1 block, bored 0.040” over, zero decked, balanced
All deburred, oil galleys radiused and interior of block painted
Scat 4340 forged, 3.75” stroke 1-pc. rear seal, crankshaft, splayed 4-bolt main, ATI balancer
Scat 4340 6” H-beam rods, ARP bolts, Clevite bearings, new freeze plugs
Mahle -5cc forged pistons, coated skirts, file fit rings
12.4:1 SCR / 9.2:1 DCR / 385 Cubic Inches
Moroso oil pan, Melling HV oil pump/welded PU, integral windage tray, crank scraper
Custom HR camshaft (233/241 @ 0.050”, 112 LSA/108 ICL, .600” lift), Morel lifters
Comp 977 springs, Ti retainers, Comp SS 1.6:1 roller rockers, Manton PR
Ai competition ported LT4 heads, 2.02”/1.56” valves, 54cc, Cometic head gaskets
Ai competition ported LT4 intake manifold (no welding)
Holley 58mm TB, stock MAF/TR ported ends, K&N FIPK, 1LE elbow
Bosch 36# EV-14 style fuel injectors, Aeromotive AFPR, Holley 255LPH pump
Dynaspark Opti, NGK plugs, MSD wires, MSD 6A CD box, MSD coil
Meziere EWP, stock fans, stock radiator, converted to green coolant
Jet Hot long tube headers, NO cats, Bassani 2.5” true-dual exhaust, with x-pipe, routed to rear
OBDI converted, LT4 KM, CAM tune, comes with (1) OBDI PCM and (1) OBDII PCM
Optima red top battery, Moroso valve covers
Retains factory AC & PS, which all work (AC needs re-charging – I never use it)
New polyurethane motor mounts, belt and hoses.

Drivetrain:
Stock T56, McLeod Street Twin clutch, Pro5.0 Shifter, IEDL 3.5” DS, DS safety loop
Strange 12-bolt rear, 33 spline axles, 3.73:1 rear gear, TA cover plate

Suspension:
Global West Torque Arm (Traclink), Lakewood LCA/APHR, Hal QA1’s/springs
KBDD sub frame connectors, Hotchkis 2-pt strut tower brace

Wheels/Tires:
AFS Grand Sports (17x9.5/17x11) with Sumitomo HTR-Z tires (~60% tread left)
Included with sale: Weld Pro-Stars (15x3.5/15x8) with MT ET Streets (26 x 9.5)

Body/Interior:
T-tops, leather seats, factory stereo/12-disc CD, power windows, seat, AC, Innovate WB O2 meter
Included with sale: Stealth box with sub, amp
SLP SS hood, RK Sport SS rear spoiler, Z28 badges

The Reality:
Although it is extremely clean inside and out, this car is 11 years old – it is not perfect, and I will gladly take as many pictures as requested of typical problematic areas (front bumper cover, rear quarter, seat wear, hole in drivers side floor mat, etc.) and areas specifically requested. It obviously had the hood, rear spoiler and bumper cover painted when the parts were installed. The originally painted portions are in great shape.

This car makes serious power for an N/A gen II LTx engine. It is loud as hell. It stinks. It will **** off your neighbors, and attract a lot of attention. This car has been drag raced, with about 30-40 passes on the chassis. This engine has not been dyno’d or raced yet.

I’m looking to get $12,750.00 OBO for this car, and I’m willing to deliver it a reasonable distance for a modest fee. I’m not interested in parting out the car, and should it not sell for a reasonable price, I’ll convert it to a full-time race car. Keeping a car like this ‘street-legal’ in CA is a hassle.

Feel free to PM me, or post here, for anything I neglected to mention.

I have personally riden in this car and its performance sets the bar for an LT1 stroker combination.

The master technician that assembled this engine is truly one of best and brightest in his field. His knowledge, competence, and attention to detail is coupled with a personal integrity that goes into his work; the result is quality.
