I understand completely. I will tell you this, I have been looking for a car for the last 5 months and one thing I have notcied is most sellers think thier car is worth 20-25% more than the market will sustain.

I look at this board every day to see what's for sale. I see people post some rediculous prices for cars (not saying you have or will do this at all). Do a search and you will see what the market will pay.

It is entirely possible that you could get a higher price for your car. People post high prices and sometimes find buyers who are interested in specific features or colors or year or something.

Please don't take this the wrong way either, I'm just trying to give you some input as you asked, based on my experience and what I have seen over the last 5 months.

Good luck in your sale! I hope you get what you want out of it!

You don't wait to see and drive a car before you decide on a max you would pay? I guess we all have different ways of shopping.

Re: 1997 Camaro Z28

your asking how much your car is worth on the wrong forum..these guys will low ball you to death because they have no money...haha!

you know what your car is worth...so does Nada...KBB is of some use! (I think)

I have a 95 I know I can get 8,000 for...but youd have to see it to believe it...I agree with you on what you said about seeing a car before judging its value...and obviously to ask what your car is worth in this forum is asking to be insulted...

of course you may have to hold on to that car for a while to get what you want...

the way i am doing mine when it goes up for sale after I put new tires on it is...I am going to put a price tag on it that of the top high end value that nada is giving it (Car in excellent shape and mileage , etc.)...which right now in my location is 7,900...I will take the average value and no less...which is 7,025...(but selling it for 7,025 has me chewing on it a little so it will sell for that price only if I have been sitting on the car for a while)

I have looked on autotrader and the like to see what the competition is..and who ever buys my car is getting a SWEET DEAL! I know this and so will the person that buys it because they will have hopefully done their homework or shopped for a Z28 long enough to know a sweet deal when they run across it.

The mods and accessories you have on the car really do not add ANY value to your car and then again they may...it really depends on the buyer...some would consider any mod a decrease in a stock cars value and then some consider it a bonus...I would be carefull of how I listed mods done to your car in an advertisement

you know what your car is worth but you may have to sit on it to sell it..only one way to find out if it will sell for what you ask and thats to put it on the market, this isnt the best place to guage interest IMO..nothing against this forum i love this forum but not the best place to gauge interest...best of luck man! peace

Re: 1997 Camaro Z28

Thanks for the input guys. I didn't ask anyone what my car is worth. I said that I haven't decided on an asking price. I posted to see if anyone else knows what it is worth, and to see if there is anyone interested in checking it out. Did anyone notice that it isn't exactly stock anymore. Just bolt-ons, but not stock. I don't need to sell it, I just have too many toys. Thanks again.

ummm ok

mods do ZERO for resale value unless there just so happens to be somebody looking for your exact car with the exact mods you have and even then they
re worth 20-30% of what they cost you.

Your car does sound like its very nice, but you happen to sound like one of the fbody owners who just isn't in touch with what these actually sell for in the open market. Having sold 4 in the last 2-3 years I am.

Re: 1997 Camaro Z28

The mods I have are the ones most people, down this way anyway , want to get installed first. Sounds like the market in other parts of the country vary quite a bit.

Like I said, I don't HAVE to sell it. That gives me the luxury of not taking an offer that I really don't want to take. This is a first for me. Here are a couple of pics. Thanks again for the replies.

NICE car!...its sad though how a lot of times we just cant get what we want for them (or what they are truly worth)...I hope you do!...heck I hope I do when I sell mine.

btw...nothing nicer than a southern car...less rust or better yet..NO rust

Agreed. Remember - your car is only worth what someone will pay for it, that's simple economics.

Dan - If you are really interested in what your car is worth, do a search on this board (or others) and see what people are paying for similar cars w/ similar mods.
