1996 z28 auto,ttops 122k good parts car for sale.

Car was recently hit and ran and has been considered totaled. Main damage is rear drivers side quarter panel area. The rest of the body is rust free and the car is in OK condition overall. Engine has been replaced and has around 90k or so on it and runs strong as of right now. Tranny is still in good running condition. Tires are almost new. It has a few extra parts added on now and I have some extra parts for sale with it or seperate. MSD wire set, ngk spark plugs, used wings west ground effects kit in good condition except some deeper scratches on the front piece, new magnaflow muffler, and other misc. items. I just don't have room for this car or the money to fix it and I think it would be considered an R-Title. If anyone is interested let me know. I would like to get around $800 for the whole car plus extra stuff. But definitely willing to take best offers. Not really sure what its worth but I think it has some value at least and figured it wouldn't hurt to try and sell it.

Location? Can you please post some updated and detailed pics of the damage along with the rest of the body? Could you also please get recent pics of the interior and under the hood please?

Thanks,

Nick

Currently I have at least 10 people seriously interested in the car since posting it on craigslist. I think it is pretty much sold at this point. Thanks for your interest though. I will get back to you asap if I don't sell it here in the next week or two. THanks

Yea it is a great deal. Could you honestly give me an estimate as to what you think i should actually be asking for the car as it is now? I am just wondering because my dad even said he thought I could get some more. I just figured since its in need of a R title now and needs a decent amount of body work and needs to be specially inspected for the r title and a few other minor repairs need done. I feel like I could be getting a little bit more money for it what do you think?

Re: 1996 z28 auto, ttops 122k good parts car for sale.

That right there is one of the worst spots these cars can be hit in my opinion. The rear quarter needs to be replaced and unfortunately it is not able to be just unbolted and removed. It's all one piece of sheet metal. It needs to be cut, removed, welded and then the sanded etc....

However that car is still worth more than $800 considering loe mileage motor, interior condition new tires etc. If you were able to I would part the car out. That's most likely what the buyer would do. It's really the only thing they should do really. By your description it would be the perfect "donor" car for a scrap yard or any joe schmo.

You need to start high on your asking price and detail all specifics with pics. if how clean the rest of the car is inside and out. Leave room for wiggle room. If someone comes to you and says you're crazy for asking $2k then tell them thanks and duly noted.

Start high and let the interested parties determine what you should get. Start at 2k. Realistically you should be able to get $1,200 +.

Also try calling scrap yards and ask them if they would be interested. is the car drivable? I mean could you start it up and drive it to work right now as is?

Re: 1996 z28 auto, ttops 122k good parts car for sale.

Yea I was thinking about trying a scrap yard to see what I could get, but do you think they would honestly offer me more than what I am already asking? I thought they usually just buy junk cars for a couple hundred bucks or whatever. As of right now I would be happy even getting $1000 for it considering the condition and work it needs to be inspected. It would need the body work + a tune up, new cats and the drivers side window needs replaced. Not saying that is a whole ton of money to put into but still. I wish I could part it out but i doubt I could begin doing that without having somewhere to store the car awhile. If I had a garage or even a flat driveway and if I wasn't hurting financially I would hang on to it and make it a project car. Not to mention I am making a pretty penny off it considering the insurance company deemed it a "total loss" and I am getting a check for its full value on top of trying to sell it. But hey I appreciate your insight greatly, thanks

Throw it on craigslist asking $1,500. The first person to offer you a grand or anything you'd be happy with getting take it and walk. That simple. However... all those extra parts you have laying around not installed don't add that into the package. If those parts are uninstalled and brand new sell them separately. You'll obviously net more profit that way.

Why is that considered a complete total? Thats not bad at all and could be fixed pretty easily. I could pay 1000$ and have it fixed and look like it did the day before it was hit

Re: 1996 z28 auto, ttops 122k good parts car for sale.

You can take the engine and PCM out and sell it for $1000. The 4l60e trans for another 400. Seats $150 in ruff condition and more if seats are good. That body kit retails around 1000. And once you part all that out you can scrap it and collect up to another $300. And that's not counting all the nic nac stuff you could also sell tires dash...etc I'd even be interested in the rs wing turn up for the spoiler.
