YES, you CAN add an aftermarket CD to Bose

I spent lots of time reading through old posts last night so I thought I would make one clear, cut, and dry. As someone said years ago in a post you CAN add an aftermarket CD unit to a factory BOSE system.

1) Splice a connector onto the PINK wire in the cars harness
2) Connect that to the BLUE/WHITE amp turn on lead from the CD players Harness
3) CRANK IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its that simple at least for the 96 Camaro W/ BOSE. It actually sounds better than I thought it ever would. Thumbs up to BOSE for this car!

I bought the black connector box when I installed an aftermarket into my 95Z years ago. Never been a fan of "wire splicing".

If you have money to "Throw Away" then by all means by that box or the PAC adaptor or any of those things. IF your on a budget, A splice will last just as long.

Not really news. I've had an aftermarket head unit in mine since I bought it in 2005, and it had been in there for years. The best thing to do is get one of those harness that plug into the factory radio connector. That way you don't have to hack up the factory harness.

I know its not NEW news. Its just that I spent so long reading through old posts I figured I would write a quick one, for search purposes.

This car has been a budget project since I first saw it. So spending $60+ on an adaptor kit alone was not in the budget. Buying a quality used CD player and mounting kit, harness, etc was enough!
