wiring a system

hello, i am looking at getting a system off a buddy of mine. he has two subs. they are 8 ohm and DVC's. i am trying to pick out an amp though. the one i am looking at is a mono class D amp. it is the sony 1100 if it matters. it will run 500 x 1 RMS at 2 ohms, etc. i just want to make sure this setup will work before i buy it. i am a bit clueless when it comes to this stuff. i realize some of the stuff i am buying is not the most expensive made. i don't need a $4000 system. i am just looking for something good that will provide a bit of bass. thanks for the help.

Re: wiring a system

Do you meen 2 subs with dual 4 ohm voice coils? if so yes you can wire both voice coils in parrallel producing a 1 ohm load.

I don't think that amp will handle a 1 ohm load though...

8 ohms and DVC? so each VC is 8 ohms in what you are trying to say? If this is the case, then if you wire it all in paralled, then yes, it will work, you will have a 2 ohm load, and that amp will be fine.
