WIRES?/INSTALL questions
Too much power does *NOT* kill subs.....on the other hand, too little will. You just need to watch your subs excursion to make sure they don't move too far "in&out". I have 1200 watts feeding two JL 10s that are rated at (I think) 300 watts/ea. I have had these subs for 5 years and they still kick butt. I am running a sealed enclosure too. I think you will need to be a little more careful if you use a ported enclosure. I don't remember if you mentioned that or not.

Chances are that 801 is 800wrms @ 12.5, you give that thing 13.8+v and its pushing a lot more power. MTX is very conservative like that.
There have been pleanty of 1000d's that have giuve 2-3-400 wrms more than rated.

i dont know much about audio as you all can tell but running 12.5v and 13.8+ whats the difference other then one uses more power and produces more.....what will it affect like will it drain the battery more or what
also can someone list all the ways of hooking up the subs like parallel and series and etc
and im just tryin to get this confirmed with someone else about my single coil 4ohm subs, if i twistand run both neg together and both pos. and run
5/8 MDF should be strong enough to hadle anything those subs can dish out. If you want to read up on different configurations, series, paralell, etc.... I highly suggest a little effort on your part and a nice search engine like google. I'm not trying to be a ***** but there is just more that you can do on your own. If you run into a special problem or need good advice or want the opinions of some guys that have 'been there, done that' ya you can ask em here and they will be happy to answer. I have already answered your series paralell question at least once. Go look it up, I think you'll be happier with what you find anyways with pictures and diagrams. good luck!!
i wouldnt hook it up in parallel, plus MTX Class D amps are wierd because of the conenctions on them, most class D amps just have 1 set of + / - connections for subs, the MTX class D amps have 2 sets of + / - connections so if your running 2 subs, you can just run a wire from each terminal on the speakers to each terminal on the amp, youd be running 2 ohms, i dunno if thats what you would want, but those subs should be able to handle it, like someone above said subs blow more often because they have too little power, then too much....
(i know alot about mtx stuff so if i didnt answer your question) ill check back.

Thanks for the backup foshizl. I didn't want to come right out and tell him not to do it although I tried to reccomend that he didn't. Not knowing too much about the MTX brand. I wasn't sure if they did something goofy like that. I have had too many different amps that failed prematurely because I ran em too hard. I don't care if the amp is rated at 2 ohms or not. If you run it at two ohms, you are going to work it hard and it's gonna run hot. Two votes now for running it normally. By this I mean hook each sub to their respective channels.
thanks guys one last q i am kinda understanding more now but the way my box is the 2 12s sit in it and both neg and both pos run to one neg and one pos terminal outside the box should i just bridge it w/ the 2 channels or ?
