I've noticed that with the stock monsoon the bass gets cut or diminishes with higher volume. I'm guessing so as not to blow the speakers or something, anyway if I hook up my sub to the stereo will this also hapen to the sub? I assume it would have to since I'd have to use the same speaker wire that cuts all the bass to begin with. I really wanted to keep the stock stereo so I could keep the stock CD changer, but the more I learn about the monsoon, the more i want to just throw in my Alpine. Is there any way to keep the bass from getting cut?

 

Tap the wires BEFORE the Monsoon amp or get a PAC OEM-1 to do it for you. I kept the Monsoon HU and changer and replaced everthing else.

Oh are you saying its the amp that cuts the bass? I thought it was the headunit that cuts it. I am plannin on ripping that thing out and placing my good amp in its place, so then I guess I wouldn't have a problem if i did it this way?

 

Correct, it's the Monsoon amp that has the speakers x-over...the HU is just a standard 4 channel GM HU.
