I was just about to ask a similar question...I have a factory cassette in my 96 Formula and want to buy a used factory Pontiac CD or preferebly a Chevy one (volume buttons work better). Will I just need the theftlock code for it to work correctly?

You cant transfer pont to chev. They have completly different mounting. The firebirds can switch from 93-02, but chevys are limited to 93-96, again, because of the mounting.
