Will the JVC Kdavx model fit in my 94 -- HELP

I have a 94 z28 camaro. I really want to use this reciever but I'm not sure if it will fit or not. Iv'e seen them in newer model camaros - but 93-97 models are a little different on the dash. Will this reciever work? Can I make this reciever work if not? - Does anyone have this reicever in there 93-97 camaro/firebird. Any info would help

yes that will fit.
its a single DIN unit so you will need a dash kit to convert the opening.

did you ever figure out the wiring situation in that car?

I was told that I needed to re-wire all the speakers in my car. I found out I only had one speaker in the door and one speaker in the trunk. I was missing one up front and the two sides. No harness or nothing. So I decided to upgrade the speakers. Everything sounds good. But my cd player seems to be turning off and sometime freezes up on my for no reason. I was told that the deck is going bad. I already have the dash opening for a aftermarket radio. But the jvc looks a little wider.

Did you ever get the JVC KD-AVX2 to fit in your 94 or did anyone who had one in a 93-97 contact you? I want to buy one for my 95. I love that head unit! Thanks!

What's up Buddy. I also like that head unit - It's defently one of my favorites. I was going to buy one but never did. I called many places and they told me it would not fit. They will fit the 98+up with slight modifications I was told. I basically wanted to also now if anyone is using this reciver in there 93-97 camaro or know someone that is. I'm sure you will need to modify something to make it work. Let me know if you hear anything or decide to try it out - Mike

I checked out the Crutchfield site and they say it won't fit. I am still thinking of giving it a try. I can't see why it won't fit. a single DIN is a single DIN??!! DUAL also makes an in dash screen (2.5"). I STILL like the JVC far better though.

Let me know how it comes along if you do decide to try it. I might buy one also. If it dont fit then I will just install it in my dakota. - Mike

My guess on why they say it onet fit is due to the depth. You might have to remove the support tab in the back for it to fit properly; not a big deal and a common modification for a lot of headunit installs in our cars. Infact if you want it flush mount you almost have to do it period with any aftermarket unit.
