Wierd power problem
I put in a Kenwood head unit and it works great. But now probably 1 out of every 4 times i start my car, the head unit will automaticly flip closed and then open then close on and off for a while, with no rythm, and it will stay closed when it wants, then open an hour later, and i can't control it. It has nothing to do with bumps, i know that. The strange part is, when it does the crazy thing, and it stays closed, not only can i not get it back open, but then my windows stop working. As soon as it decides to open again, my windows work again. Most of the time when this happens, and i need my windows up, i just turn my car off and then back on. This fixes it temporarly.

RAP module problem. or if you have a 96+, it's in the BCM. On my 97, if i smack the top of the dash above the radio, it'll come back on. Just haven't gotten around to buying the $115 module. what year is yours?

That's the wiring of the BCM that controls all that stuff you were talking about not working. I suppose you could bypass it, but it'd be pretty complicated, as the module supplies power directly to the radio and power window circuits at the fuse box, and also needs an input from the same. if i had the retained accessory power circuit diagram you'd see how it powers the radio and windows. pull your radio out and look behind it, that's the module, and you should see a little relay beside it. maybe when you changed the radio you may have shorted a wire or something internally.
