Why do burned CD's sound bad - too much Bass
All burned CD's sound crappy. If I turn the bass all the way down, it is still way too loud and monotone. If I move the bass all the way up then all the way down, there is no difference in the sound.
Normal CD's sound great. Am I just burning the CD's wrong?
If I rip a song from a CD as a .wav and then burn it, it's fine. But if I convert it from an MP3, no matter what quality, it's sounds terrible.
What can I do?
Thanks

Download higher quality mp3s. at least 128 kbps, 44khz, anything less is less than CD quality. What programs are you using to burn, decode, etc.?

I don't listen to regular CDs anymore (I have an MP3 player so I make data discs with 150 MP3s on them) but when I had my old HU I just downloded the MP3s that I wanted on a disc, put them all in one folder and used nero to burn them (nero automatically decodes the MP3s if you're making an audio CD). Sometimes Nero would have a problem decoding some files so for those I would use Winamp's built in decoder.
I don't understand why you're having problems. What HU do you have? What kind of CDs are you using? What speed are you burning at? What disc mode are you using to burn these CDs?

Mp3's are coded at different levels on many types of PC's that use their own recording levels when converting to Mp3's with a multitude of softwares. I only use a Mp3 in my car and the unfortunate part of it is that I'm always adjusting the volume and or bass.

I recently bought an mp3 deck as well. But before that.....I didn't even burn songs that were @ 128. It was 192 or nothing. I use Musicmatch. I acutally bought the program. Love it, you d/l a song, right click on it once, click on super tagging, brings down the tag info, album art, and automatically renames the track in the format you want. All with one click
