Where did you guys get your high output Alernators?

Mine has been going out....need to get another high output one. I have an underdrive pulley and a 1200 watt amp, so 140 amp aint gonna do it. Right now I think its about a 180+ in there(previous owner got a bigger one, and got it jazzed up in orlando)

Someone in the LT1 section said to post it in here. Its a 95 TA.

And oh yea, for the last alternator they had to put in a different(I think bigger) accessory bracket to hold it, so i guess i need to match it to that somehow.

Thanks.

I dont know that your car has a 140 in it from the factory.... IIRC only Impala SS LT1's had the 140 factory (which would bolt right into your car). Did you change it???

My car has a 140A. 140A should be fine as long as you upgrade the wiring under the hood. Add 4 gauge wires to: alternator to battery, battery to chassis ground, chassis ground to engine block.

I'd say try this first, you'll need to upgrade the wiring for a bigger alternator anyway.

I had my alternator blown up to a 200 amp it is still in the stock casing from what I understood he just put different diodes and stuff in it. I paid $225 to have it done. I have ran 3 BD1500.1 and a power 400.4 and also 3 JL 1000/1 and a JL e4300 with it.(also ran stinger spv44 and 3 farad cap with set-ups) I have had no problems with mine and have been running it for 3 years Ed Collins did mine and I would highly suggest he has a fast turn around him here is his info

Check out the Mechanical Man (mechman) Alternators. I have a link to them on my webpage. I got a chrome 200+amp alternator from them over a year ago and its running fine with no problems, especially with the punishment i subject it to, and definatly upgrade the grounds while your at it....i suggest Hyper Ground Systems grounding.....it definatly makes a diff.

Depends on the alternators output. Are we talking with the stock alt.? If so, no. 4g is plenty
