Question Wheel controls not work & Kenwood Q

For some reason, since I got the car, the steering wheel controls never worked, before I drop 57 on the adapter I want to make sure why they didn't work. They had the lights still working on them and still do. By the way and I tried changing the fuse. I'm going to go and find my old factory cd player and see if it will work. My friends with GTAs, all their stuff still works fine. So I'm wondering why mines doesn't, any clues? I tried seraching and only found how to get the aftermarket H/U to work. Just a quick Q, does any one know of the Kenwood 516S will support a remote, Kenwood never e-mail me back.

Thanks guys

Neil

Yea, I already know that. Thats not the problem, my problem is the steering wheel controls not working with the factory radio when I had it. I dont want to sped money on an adapter if the steering wheels controls dont work at all. You see what I'm saying? So I'm wondering if there is any way to check and see why they dont work. Thus the whole thing about getting a stock radio back in to see.
