What's UP with these Infinty's
What's UP with these Infinty's
I just installed an Alpine head unit and a pair of Infintity Reference 6.5's , and i am noticing that the sound is really really high pitched, like to the point where it herts my ears. While listing to rock music, every symbols crash or 's' sound just absolutley herts. Is it the fact that theres only 2 speakers so theres not enough bass, are they bad speakers... i really dont know why such renound equipment sounds so bad.
What Alpine headunit are you using? The new ones have built-in EQ's and stuff. You might just have some settings wrong. Did you have a Bose system in your car before you switched out?
Infinity's are really good speakers. So I dont think its the speakers.
If you need some help setting up your radio, let me know. I could try to walk you thru it if you want. Just mail me at skmoore21@hotmail.com. Send your # if you want me to call and try to help!

I did have that ****y BOSE system before.
The alpine deck is the CDM-9803. Looks like I'm just gonna have to read through the manel and see if I have some settings wrong or something, thanks for the help guys

Hey, unless you ran new speaker wires, you are probably going thru the Bose amp. Try this:
Pull out your headunit and a speaker in the rear. Run a piece of wire from one of the speaker leads off the radio to the speaker. Nevermind running it and hiding it (its just for test purposes). Turn the radio on and see if its doing the same thing.
If not, then you need to run wires to each speaker seperately. I know it sucks but it may be your only hope.
WAIT... I forgot something!
There is an adaptor you can get that installs inline with your speaker leads behind the radio. It has adjustments so you can turn everyhting down.
That HAS to be what is wrong. Let me know if you need anymore help.
