whats with my stereo!?!?
whats with my stereo!?!?
Well, being the idiot i am, i rippes the bose stereo out of my car, put in a new deck, and replacements in the doors. I bypassed the bose amps. Now this is the weird part. I still decided to use the stock bose wiring, because i was to lazy to replace with new wire, and now it seems i get highs from the drivers side, and the mids from my passenger side, and its really weird. The stock wires were like 3 solid colors and a unsheided wire. You think since their was 4 wires, two would be for one speaker, and the other two would be for the other speaker. I never could get it to work right, but then i would work right when i only had one ground from the headunit hooked up, and both positives. I total of 3 wires. Im confused, and sorry if im not making any sense. What the heck is between the headunit, and the speakers, some sort of cross over? Help! I dont wanna run new wires, it looks like i have to rip part of the dash out.
AHHHHH!!!

Run new wires.
I was sure there was a crossover somewhere in the car, but I don't recall where -but truly, do you really want 22 gauge or higher wire running speakers? Nah. Go grab a spool of 16 or 18 from Radio Shack or Walmart for less than $10, and do it right.

Re: whats with my stereo!?!?
the easiest way is to butt-splice , tape, tie, or somehow fasten the new wire to the old wire and coat the new wire with lotion. As you pull the old wire out, you are pulling the new wire in.
